Dawson A. Ransome founded The Ransome Companies in 2002. Mr. Ransome is the Chief Executive Officer and President of The Ransome Companies and serves as Chairman of the company Executive Committee. Mr. Ransome oversees the company's daily operations and is primarily responsible for business development, jointly coordinates the company's proprietary systems based on the Argus Developer, Valuation DCF and Development Budget modules, and is responsible for final project underwriting approval.
From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Ransome owned and operated an independent investment advisory firm based in Ocala Florida. Prior to that, Mr. Ransome had a distinguished career in both amateur and professional athletics in two separate sports. From 1991 through 1996, he competed in the sport of road cycling. In 1993 and 1994, Mr. Ransome finished in 9th and 4th, respectively, in the U.S. National Cycling Championships and represented the U.S. as a part-time member of the National Cycling Team. Prior to his career in cycling, Mr. Ransome had spent seven years as a national competitor in the sport of motocross, which was highlighted by a victory in the 1986 U.S. Amateur National Motocross Championships.
