The Secret of the Touch Stone

Times were hard in the little Greek fishing village. For some strange unknown reason the fish had stopped biting. No one knew why.
 
 One day a fisherman named Ari was sitting in the local town square among the other fisherman pinning over his broken luck. He over heard some of the other local fishermen talking about a miracle stone that was smooth and warm to the touch... and... would grant anyone their hearts desire.
 
 "where could one find such a stone as this he asked them"?
 
 "Down at the waters edge...came the reply".
 
 Ari raced home with renewed hope...If he could find this mysterious stone all his prayers would be answered...
 
 He pleaded with his wife clutching their newborn son to allow him to look for the touch stone
 explaining that the fish may never return and that this touch stone would solve their problems...
 
 She allowed him to look for the stone only until the fish returned.
 
 Every day at sun up Ari woke up and went down to the beach in the heat of the day picking up stone after stone examining it and tossing it into the water convinced he had not found the elusive stone...
 
 He returned home in the evening disappointed and discouraged but he vowed to return...
 
 After some time the fish did come back and the the fishermen returned to work... Ari's wife left him shortly thereafter...
 
 Ari continued to look for many years until his death not realizing that he had indeed found the touch stone many years before.
 
 However instead of recognizing his good fortune he had tossed it back because it looked and felt like all the other stones...
