Excel IRR Calc...which cell arrays do I use?

In selecting a array of cells, for a five year IRR, do I have 6 cells (first is negative as the amount invested, five years of cash flow, the last year includes sale proceeds...Scenario 1 below), and 8 cells for a 7 year IRR, OR do i include the investment and the cash flow from year 1 as one number...Scenario 2 below), thus 5 cells in the array?

Scenario 1 -1000000 100000 125000 130000 150000 1250000+175000
Scenario 2 -900000 125000 130000 150000 1250000+175000
